Great Vintage Finds

JM Perez By JM Perez2 min read1.1K views

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great start to your week. I have been very busy these days and very blessed too. Today I would like to show you a few gorgeous vintage pieces I recently added to my collection.

  • A Josef Originals Bride musical figurine. She slowly spins around while playing “Bridal March.”

  • A 1960’s Flapper Dress/Drop Waist Gatsby Dress with matching cream Lace Blouse by Miss Ashlee of California. As I was scanning through a row of clothes crammed together, I could sense a promising outfit. The dress was still wrapped in plastic and appeared to had never been worn. As I lifted the lace blouse, my heart leaped with joy at the sight of the drop waist Gatsby Dress underneath, as I was dazzled by its beauty.
Since the dress was missing the maker tag, I went on the Federal Trade and Commission website and punched in the RN number on the care label to get information on the designer, which turned out to be Miss Ashlee.

Cute Vintage Finds

Early this afternoon we returned to the Estate Liquidators to purchase what was left of the 1920’s-1940’s Vintage Chippendale Pull with cast iron bail a couple of weeks earlier (see them here). This time I made sure I took all the dismantled pieces of the drawers including those I left behind last time.

My husband found a couple of old gardening tools he’s been wanting to acquire for a long time. My boy was more interested in Shells and got a few for a craft project. As for my daughter, she found two of her favorite characters stuffed toys which she immediately grabbed. A ballerina Smurfette and Hello Kitty, both vintage. The Smurfette was produced by Applause, Inc. (founded as Wallace Berrie & Co., Inc) and is marked 1984 Peyo.

The Hello Kitty is a 1996 nylon plush doll and was distributed in the  United States by Sanrio, Inc.

As for me, I found a few things. The one I love the most is this tall Vintage Grey Smoke Glass Cylinder Vase.

My second favorite vintage find is a 1977 Lil’ Miz “Whisk-It” (Millet Grass Whisk-Broom) by Westwood Import Co., Inc. This beauty comes right on time as I will be making my Fall wreath in a few day and she will play an important part.

I am very grateful for my cute little vintage finds on this hot Saturday afternoon.

Vintage Chippendale Pulls

While driving around the city this morning we decided to make a stop at the Estate Liquidators. It’s always a delight visiting this little shop, especially the outdoor space where we’ve found beautiful pieces in the past. Our visit wasn’t any different from the previous ones as we’ve never left the shop empty handed. As I was admiring a multi-level wrought iron plant holder, I saw a set of gorgeous vintage drawers with Chippendale Pulls from the 1940’s out of the corner of my eye and I knew they were coming home with me. The Pulls are made from brass, they are charming, unique, a little rusty and show age worn patina.

I bought the drawers for the pulls, so when I removed them and saw the imprints they left into the wood I promised myself to restore the drawers and possibly used them as planters. From the shape (rounded front) and size of the wood (all original), the pieces appear to have come from a small desk or vanity. Once the pieces are put together, I might use it as a tray or to hold my indoor plant

I have so much to do this coming weekend and restoring a few gorgeous vintage drawers is one of the many projects on my list. Most likely going to the movies with the family.

Horseshoe Art & Yard Sculptures

This morning we took a trip to Lucerne Valley, CA mainly for sightseeing having taking this drive only twice before and coming across closed shops. Today everything was open and we got to take a look at the selections each stop had to offer.

Our first stop was at Pancho’s having stopped here before and seen their selection of Cement Sculptures/Statues and Water Fountains. They have their own molds and are very friendly. Their selections are either painted or unpainted giving you the option of how to proceed with your selection once purchased.
We decided on a 12 inch wall hanging mermaid decoration which was primed brown. After cleaning it and sanding a couple of spots, we painted it Soft Lavender. What a beautiful find!

We also bought a cement smiling Buddha Statue which is very detailed and very friendly. We decided to keep it plain and only did a clear coat on it to protect it. It is a nice addition to our current Buddha collection and we hope that it will bring peace and tranquility to our garden and will be one of the focal points of interest.

Our next stop was at a place down the road that offered a variety of metal sculptures, bottle art, antiques and horseshoe art made by Don Henry. Don is an artist who has been creating his own horseshoe art for years (flowers, kokopelli, butterflies, bird feeders and baths, bunnies, cowboys, plant stands and many others). His products are pure metal and will withstand the test of time. My wife fell in love with a rustic metal face made out of a cover from a model A cylinder cap and horseshoes and I just had to get it for her.

I hope that you will enjoy these places as much as we did. Every shop is an adventure in itself.

Welcome to the Visual Tour of Linda Marie’s Enchanted Treasures …

Linda Marie's Enchanted Treasures.
Linda Marie’s Enchanted Treasures.

I have been to Linda Marie’s Enchanted Treasures twice before this day and in every single trip I get mesmerized. Everything is so beautiful that you want to touch every single piece. So much lovelies everywhere. It’s simply dreamy. And the loveliest of all, Linda Marie, herself. Graceful, energetic, helpful, lively, friendly and funny.

Rule #1. Don’t get discouraged by the size of her Shop.
Remember the saying, ‘great things come in small packages.’ Linda Marie has a paradise of goodness at the back of her shop (without counting what’s inside: clothing, collectibles and more). Because words cannot describe her collections, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

I have personally come to enjoy and love Primitive decor as it adds charm and a Country feel to my Home. If you love gardening or just enjoy being around plants, you will fall in love with her unique garden planters, which varies from ceramic pots to stone carvings (Greek head planters), Yard Sculptures, Toilet, Tanks and Sinks Planters, Sinks water fountains, Drawer Planters, etc.

If you are looking for Antique Lantern, Rustic Primitive cupboard, distressed Rustic Country block Wood Sign, Patio/Bistro Set, Cookbooks, unique and custom Benches, bird houses, Door Knockers, Chandelier, Hand Towels, Tractor Seats, Cherub Statues, Farmhouse dining table and chairs, old tools, Vintage Chests and Trunks, or just ideas on how to implement Primitive decoration into your home; you can begin your search at Linda Marie’s Enchanted Treasures. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

Linda Marie’s Treasures are truly enchanted. Click here to see the gorgeous set of wall hanging Greek Male and Female Head Sculptures that I purchased from her shop last Summer (as well as a lovely Moroccan Lantern).
