As some of you may already know, the sixteen-day Oktoberfest festival held each year in Munich, Germany from late September thru early October featuring beer-drinking and merrymaking is still ongoing.

I received a Grolsch Premium Lager Magnum. 1.5 L Swing Top a while back from a former co-worker which I stored at a stable temperature, in a cool dark place. I will wait until the weekend to enjoy this quality German Beer with a delicious meal; either solo or with some neighbors over good conversations.

How about the Grolsch Koel Service? Isn’t it awesome? Trading warm beers for cold Grolsch ones. I raise a glass  to the clever minds behind this idea. Such a service would come in handy during the hots days of Summer.

Though tickets to the 2013 Los Angeles Oktoberfest have been sold out; there are still a couple of events going on throughout Southern California, if interested, click here to find a location nearest to you.

As always, drink responsibly and drink smart

High Desert Summer Events

JM Perez By JM Perez2 min read944 views

Early this afternoon, we took the kids to the movies to watch Despicable Me 2 at the Civic Plaza 12. Today being the released date, all seats were sold out for the 4:50 PM showtime. So, I went ahead and purchased four tickets for the next one, which was at 6:10 PM. What to do in the meantime? I asked myself. As I looked across from the theater, I saw a Music Band as well as lots and lots of people gathered around food, clothing and accessories stands. We later found out that they are all part of Summer events happening in the High Desert.

While keeping the kids busy until it was time to watch the movie (which we very much liked); I enjoyed some live Pop and Country Music from the band Under Construction.

I am so excited for the weekend. There are a couple of events coming up. On Saturday, we will be taking the kids to The Home Depot® Kids Workshop and this time, the kids will be building Bird Feeders. These are free Do-It-Yourself Workshops which are available for adults/homeowners as well.

On Friday we’ll be attending the 29th Annual High Desert Home & Garden Show which will be held at the Victorville Fairgrounds on April 5, 6 and 7, 2013. We’ve heard great stories about the Home & Garden Show, but never found the time to attend. We already have our tickets which mean peace of mind.
