Located in Historic Old Town Crestline California, My Favorite Things is a fabulous shop for everything between Home essentials, furniture, unique gifts, scrapbooking supplies, greeting cards, one of a kind jewelry, scented soap and great vintage findings. The decor is simply amazing and the atmosphere is peaceful. Upon arrival you are drawn to the gently and captivating smell of Trapp Fragrances, which shop owner Yolanda, proudly display on her shelves (Private Gardens, Seasonal, Votives, Room Sprays, Home Diffusers, Fragrance Mist and Specials). Right now and for a limited time only, you can buy 4 Seasonal Candles and Get the 5th for free at participating Retailers.

The shop offers a range of jewelry such as anklets, bracelets, charms, necklaces, earrings, toe rings, crystal , bridal and everything in between. There is a small selection of children’s toys ranging from Chalk kits to building blocks and puzzles. The shop also carries a selection of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™. The paint is wonderful as it is easy to work with on pretty much everything and anything without requiring preparation. While going to visit one of our local Antique shops, we realized that there was a difference in the building. The normal entrance was closed and the annex was the new entrance. As we walked up to it we noticed that the sign of the business had changed as well. The feel of the new setup and the quality of the antiques, as well as their diversity was surprising to say the least. After our initial visit we knew that we had to go back and check it out again, since every time we visit antique shops we find and notice items we had missed before.

The shop carries beautiful and unique Antique furniture, some of which are 100 years old (such as a matching Victorian Desk and Chair as well as a huge American Flag with 48 stars). You will also find furniture from the 1800 (such as a Cigar Counter). The shop also carries stunning Shabby Chic furniture such as arm chairs, benches, chandeliers, mirrors, picture frames, candle holders. There’s so much to see at the Garden Shed & Co.

Bobbie, the store owner is cheerful and always available for questions and to help.

Smoketree Junction Antiques

The second joyful part of our day was visiting the Smoketree Junction Antique Stores in Pinon Hills, CA (also referred to us by Angie). It’s a beautiful and friendly place to shop for antiques, shabby chic, garden as well as upcycling furniture.

I found this gorgeous antique Ladies Vintage Dress Form Bust “Gleneagles 1900′s Lady Golf Tournament” still in its original condition (from my extensive research on the Internet). If this beauty was made in 1900 then it’s 112 years old. How cool is this? My husband on the other hand found a vintage red glass oil lamp, which was converted to an electric lamp. He will post pictures and tell you all about it himself in due time. Don’t hesitate to stop by when you’re in town.

A few years ago, we found a Vintage Horse Grooming Curry Comb Brush (from the 1950’s) in the basement of our storage shed. Back then, we had no idea as of what it was except that it was really old, until this afternoon at the antique store when we spotted a similar tool and inquired about it. This is just one of the many finds we unveiled around our home.

When it comes to beverages and to wine precisely; I am a light non-alcoholic wine drinker. I love wine glasses. There is something about them that I can quite grasp. Perhaps is the elegance, the feel and the shape of the glass? These glasses would definitely make for a lively evening.

1940's Vintage Bell Wine Goblets. — *1940’s Vintage Bell Wine Goblets.*

I was so delighted to find a pair of Vintage Metal Plant Stand, which I restored. I started by washing it, removing the rusted areas with a wire brush and smoothing it out with a sandpaper. I primed first and spray painted it (to seal the metal surface and prevent future rusting). They are gorgeous and I can’t wait to use them.

The gorgeous set of wall hanging Greek Male and Female Head Sculptures was purchased from Linda Marie’s Enchanted Treasures.

One of my favorites places to shop for Home Decor furniture and accessories is Kohl’s. I am particularly fond of their gorgeous selection of Elle Decor as well as the Sonoma Life + Style® brand.

I love great deals. One can only find such deals at the clearance section. Most of the times, the item is not broken or chipped; rather, an online purchase that was manually returned in a store.

My advice to anyone searching for stunning yet affordable home furnishings is to shop around and start by checking the clearance section of your favorite stores.
